At dawn, as the sun rises and the mountain colors intensify, "Charcoal Dusk" is roasted - a traditional oolong tea intensely and slowly roasted over longan wood charcoal. The combination of medium-intense fermentation and intense roasting allows the tea leaves to lose their astringency, transforming into a deep charcoal aroma with nutty notes. The result is a warm, full-bodied, deep amber infusion with a woody and caramel aftertaste, like the smoke rising from a mountain bonfire at midday: tranquil, warm, and comforting.
Tasting:
Notes: Charcoal, toasted nuts, caramelised sweetness, woody depth with a long finish.
You can brew it in a gaiwan, teapot, or directly in a bowl. We do not recommend using tea infusers, as the leaves need enough space to unfurl. The amount of leaves will depend on the volume of the infusion, but we recommend approximately 4-5 g per 150 ml.
Steeping: A first steep of 50 seconds in water at 95-100°C. For the second steep, add the same amount of water and increase the time by about 15 seconds consecutively. Repeat this process at least six or seven times.
It is advisable to use soft and low-chlorine water to better release the aromas and tannins.
